Glasgow to Rutherglen train chaos as fallen tree halts services
Rail services between Rutherglen and Glasgow[1] have been halted after a fallen tree became tangled in overhead lines.
ScotRail[2] say they are unable to run trains to and from Dalmarnock due to the obstruction. Trains running between Glasgow Central[3] and Rutherglen are expected to be cancelled or delayed.
Network Rail say the disruption is expected to last until 12am. A spokesperson for Scotrail said: “Due to an object being caught in the overhead lines, the line near Dalmarnock the line towards Glasgow is closed. Services are subject to alteration and cancellation in both directions.”
A spokesperson for Network Rail said: “A tree on the overhead lines at Dalmarnock means that the line towards Glasgow Central is blocked. Trains running between Rutherglen and Glasgow Central may be cancelled or delayed. Disruption is expected until 12:00.”
