Footage shows water flooding inside of Glasgow bus as it drives …
The inside of a Glasgow bus began to flood with water as it drove through Maryhill[1] yesterday (October 7).
A video of the alarming scene shows the bus slowly driving through severely flooded roads. Water is seen seeping through the automatic doors, covering the front of the bus.
Glasgow was battered by rain[2] yesterday (Saturday), with an amber weather a 'danger to life' warning in place by the Met Office for the entirety of the day. It led to mass disruption across the region, with multiple rail and bus services cancelled.
ScotRail[3] cancelled all rail services by 9pm, saying that certain areas had seen a month's worth of rain in a 24-hour period. Police Scotland also confirmed they were dealing with major disruption while the Scottish Government launched a Resilience Committee meeting in response.
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa) continues to have more than 50 flood warnings in place across the country. Issuing an update at 9am on Sunday, Sepa said people should remain vigilant about the risk of flooding.
Flood duty manager Vincent Fitzsimons said: "It's been a rough weekend across Scotland, with severe weather causing widespread travel disruption to road and rail networks and impacts in communities from Greenock to Aviemore.
"Our teams have been working around the clock with Scottish Government and the Met Office in the lead into and across this major weather event."

He added: "Today the focus continues to turn to communities across the North, with a particular concern for severe flood impacts to communities along the Spey and Tay rivers.
"It's a day to stay alert, not stand down. The risk to life remains."
