Floral tributes after woman dies in North Staffordshire crash
Paramedics say nothing could be done to save the life of a motorist killed in a fatal North Staffordshire crash. Police continue to appeal for witnesses to come forward following the collision in Madeley Heath.[1]
It comes as floral tributes have been left on Main Road today following the crash on Sunday morning. Emergency services, including police, firefighters, paramedics and the air ambulance, were called to the A531 through Bowsey Wood at around 7.15am to reports of a collision.
As previously reported by StokeonTrentLive[2] the driver, a woman in her 80s, had suffered life-threatening injuries, and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Today West Midlands Ambulance Service[3] says an ambulance, a paramedic officer and a Midlands Air Ambualnce were all sent to the incident.

An ambulance service spokeswoman said: “On arrival, crews found one car had been involved in a collision and had ended up on its roof. The driver, a woman, was in a life-threatening condition. Fire colleagues assisted with extricating her from the car and ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support. Sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, the woman could not be saved and she was confirmed dead at the scene.”
Staffordshire Police[6] had been called to a single-vehicle collision.
A police spokeswoman said: “The driver of the car, a woman in her 80s, was found with life-threatening injuries. Sadly, she died at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed and will be supported by specially-trained officers. We are keen to speak to anyone with any CCTV or dashcam footage from the area or those with any information which could help collision investigators.”
