Scottish First Minister Humza Yousaf has said there will be a “long road to recovery” for those impacted by Storm Babet as he visited one of the worst-hit areas, Brechin. Around 1,250 properties in England have been flooded while an estimated 30,000 properties have needed protection against rising water levels, the Environment Agency (EA) said. The UK will continue to face travel disruption due to flooding from major rivers which has caused problems across Britain’s rail network, with disruption to continue in parts of Yorkshire, Scotland, East Anglia and the East Midlands on Sunday. In Ireland, warnings of heavy rainfall are in place across 20 counties, with forecasters urging people to be aware of flooding and dangerous road conditions on Monday.
