Fallen tree leaves road shut as Cheshire set for ‘day of rain’
Police[1] have been forced to shut off a road after a tree collapsed. And the incident in Macclesfield[2] comes as the county is set for a grim day of heavy downpours and strong winds.
Officers were called out to Shrigley Road this morning where the tree was found to be blocking both carriageways. As a result the road has been closed off between Shrigley Hall and Bakestonedale Road.
Officers with the town’s local policing team say they are ‘assisting land owners’ with the removal of the fallen tree. The incident comes as the county is set to be battered by heavy rain today.
