Exact dates and motorway junctions M1 will be closed overnight

There will be overnight closures on sections of the M1 in West Yorkshire from next week as overnight inspections and surveys are underway.

The closures are designed to protect both drivers and workers from accidents. These closures will be on the M1 northbound between junction 46 at Austhorpe and junction 47 at Parlington.

They will take place on weeknights from Monday, October 2 from 8pm until 6am. The northbound carriageway will be closed to allow for ground surveys and drainage inspections.

If you still need to travel during these times, then a diversion will be in place. This will be via the new A6120 north and A64 east, taking traffic to J44 of the A1(M) at Bramham.

The outside lane on the southbound carriageway will also be closed along with the junction 46 northbound entry sliproad.

These closures will last until October 13. Afterwards, the closures will switch to weeknights on the southbound carriage between October 16 and October 27.

During this, traffic will be diverted via the A64 and A6120 to rejoin the M1 at junction 46.
