Edinburgh train chaos as routes cancelled and others delayed
Edinburgh train passengers have been warned of a signalling fault causing disruption to many services[1].
Trains are currently unable to run from Edinburgh to Perth, Dundee and Glasgow after a fault with the signalling system was alerted at Edinburgh Waverley Station. Disruption is expected to continue until 9.30am.
ScotRail[2] took to social media to warn passengers of the disruption and said that tickets can be used on selected stagecoach buses.
As written on X, formally known as Twitter, ScotRail said: “Due to a fault with the signalling system, services are unable to run from Edinburgh to Perth, Dundee and Glasgow.”
National Rail also informed passengers by stating: “Disruption to ScotRail services expected until 9.30am. A fault with the signalling system at Edinburgh means trains are currently unable to run between Edinburgh and Dundee/ Perth/ Glasgow Queen Street.
“Train services between Edinburgh and Helensburgh Central via Bathgate will be delayed, cancelled, or revised. All services to / from Glasgow Queen Street will be affected with the exception of services between Glasgow Queen Street and Anniesland.
“We anticipate disruption will continue until 9.30am.”
