Eaton Ford crash sees unsupervised learner driver flip car after …

An unsupervised learner driver flipped their car after hitting a lamp post in a Cambridgeshire[1] village on Tuesday (October 31). Police officers were called to the incident in Eaton Ford just after 2am.

A photo shared by Cambridgeshire Police shows a red car on its roof in the middle of the street. It is next to road markings reading ‘stop’.

A force spokesperson said: “Our response officers were called to St Neots Road, Eaton Ford, just after 2am this morning after this vehicle hit a lamp post and ended up on its roof. The driver was reported for driving otherwise in accordance with a driving licence as he was holding a provisional licence but failed to display any ‘L’ plates and was not supervised by a suitable person.”

Learner drivers must by law be accompanied by a suitable person who is over 21, is qualified to drive the type of vehicle the learner is in, and has held a full driving licence for three years. Learners must also display an ‘L’ plate on the front and rear of the vehicle so they can be seen easily.
