Driver gets pulled over by police twice in same night

A driver was pulled over by police twice in the same night according to cops. The motorist was issued a warning by police due to their "manner of driving" on Saturday October 21 before allegedly doing the same thing three hours later which was then reported by traffic cops, BirminghamLive reports.[1]

The incident occurred in the West Midlands on October 21 where the driver, who had a silver four-door hatchback was spotted alongside other car cruises during a proposed meet up. The vehicle was later seized.

A statement issued by police said: "Our Road Harm Prevention Team was out tonight on Operation Hercules. This vehicle was issued a Section 59 warning for manner of driving. Three hours later we saw the same vehicle doing the same thing with other car cruisers in a different location. Vehicle seized."

West Midlands Police[3] have launched a major crackdown across the region on "anti-social vehicle use" and Operation Hercules catching drivers across Birmingham[4] which runs regularly and targets people who engage in car cruising and street races.

Head of roads policing, Superintendent Gareth Mason, said: "West Midlands Police and our partners take illegal street racing extremely seriously. The behaviour of those who treat our roads as race tracks poses a danger to other road users.

"We work closely with our partners to put in a suite of tactics to identify, disrupt and enforce against those taking part or observing. The region has recently secured new injunction powers and those found in breach will be arrested and put before the courts.

"Our priority is keeping the roads safe for all. We encourage friends, families and neighbours of those driving anti-socially or attending to watch racing to challenge this unacceptable behaviour before more people get harmed."
