Dover man charged with attempted murder after woman in her 70s …
Police have named a man charged with attempted murder after a woman in her 70s was stabbed at a home in Dover. Officers were called to an address in Healthfield Avenue at 11.30am on Thursday, October 12.
Kent Police had received a report a woman had been assaulted. When they arrived at the address with paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service they found a woman had been stabbed.
The victim, in her 70s, was taken to a London hospital, where she remains in a stable condition.
A spokesman for Kent Police said: “Following enquiries at the scene, a man who is known to the victim was arrested at a property elsewhere in the town around half an hour later.”
Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate have since charged Mark Roberts with attempted murder.
The 51-year-old, of Auden Way, Dover, appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court today (October 17) where he and was remanded in custody to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday, November 14.
