DISTRICT Hit By Flooding Travel Chaos
FLOODING caused causing major disruption for road and rail travellers (Saturday).
Heavy rain led to widespread problems across the district, with the A8 closed in Greenock all day.
Many other main routes were affected including the A770 in Gourock and Greenock and the A78 at Inverkip.
Trains were affected on the Wemyss Bay and Gourock lines, with services expected to be cancelled for the rest of the day (Saturday).
McGill’s Buses suspended their whole Inverclyde network at the height of the flooding but started reintroducing services in the evening.
