Delays and cancellations on Greater Manchester trains due to …
Some trains in Greater Manchester are delayed or cancelled this morning due to ‘an object caught in overhead wires’.
The lines between Stockport[1] and Stoke-on-Trent are currently blocked, according to National Rail. A number of routes from Manchester Piccadilly are affected.
These include Avanti West Coast between London Euston and Manchester Piccadilly, CrossCountry between Paignton / Southampton Central / Bournemouth / Bristol Temple Meads / Birmingham New Street and Manchester Piccadilly and Northern between Stoke-on-Trent and Manchester Piccadilly.
Trains may be delayed, cancelled or diverted. Disruption is expected until at least 11.30am, with passengers being urged to check before they travel.
