A-road near Herefordshire-Gloucestershire border reopen after fatal …

A road near the Herefordshire[1]-Gloucestershire border is reopen following a fatal crash. The A4137 had been closed between Marstow and St Owen’s Cross after the incident involving a car and lorry which happened at around 12.44pm.

According to traffic[2] monitoring site Inrix, the crash took place near the Glewstone turn-off and the road was closed to aid with accident investigation work which is currently being undertaken. Traffic was queuing in both directions.

Inrix says: “The A4137 in both directions closed, queuing traffic due to accident investigation work between the Llangarron turn-off (Marstow) and The New Inn (St Owen’s Cross). The accident happened near to the Glewstone turn off and the road is now fully closed to assist. Affecting traffic between Marstow and St Owen’s Cross.”

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed a woman who was driving the car died at the scene. The road reopened at around 6.30pm.
