Car bursts into flames in Lidl car park
A car burst into flames in a Lidl supermarket car park.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service[1] were called to the supermarket, at the junction of Oxton Road and Balls Road in Birkenhead[2], Wirral[3] at 3.10pm on Friday, October 6. Six minutes later two fire engines arrived at the scene and found one car well alight.
They used two high pressure hose reels to get the flames under control and extinguished the fire. Crews left the scene by 4pm.
A passer-by described how a fire engine was just arriving as they drove through the traffic lights nearby. They added that the flames looked “quite dramatic”.
