Cannabis farm discovered in Folkestone town centre after man fell …
A man who fell from a building and five others have been arrested in connection with a cannabis farm in Folkestone town centre. Police were called to Guildhall Street early this morning to reports a man had fallen from the building.
Witnesses said the huge number of vehicles must have been a “major incident”[1] as there were police, firefighters, paramedics and forensics teams in attendance. The fire service said it was a police led incident.
When police officers arrived at 5.35am they discovered a large cannabis farm. The man who had fallen was not seriously injured, but was taken to hospital – and then arrested.
Police said four more men were also arrested at the Guildhall Street property. They said the incident is linked to another arrest made in nearby Shellons Street this morning.
Local police found a car with false plates and was suspected to be stolen from Essex. The officers found cannabis inside the vehicle and arrested the occupant.
The 34-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of driving offences, vehicle theft and possessing drugs with intent to supply, and taken in to custody.
A spokesman for Kent Police said: “Officers are expected to remain in the area while enquiries into the two incidents, which are being treated as linked, continue.”
One witness said they saw people coming out the building with masks on and electricity suppliers in attendance.
