British Transport Police update after person hit by train
British Transport Police has issued an update after a person was hit by a train in Lincolnshire. Emergency services, including British Transport Police, the East Midlands Ambulance Service[1], and the air ambulance, were called to Littlefield Lane in Grimsby on the morning of Tuesday, October 24.
Trains between Grimsby and Lincoln[2] were disrupted for several hours[3], with East Midlands Railway confirming that a person had been hit by a train. A spokesperson for the force said: "Officers were called to the line in Grimsby at 11.35am following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended and a person has been taken to hospital in a serious condition. The incident is not being treated as suspicious."

She added that while emergency services were responding to the person hit by a train, there was a separate medical incident on board a train that had been held up. A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: "We sent a paramedic in a solo response car and three crewed ambulances. The air ambulance was also in attendance.
"One patient was assessed and discharged at the scene, and a further two patients were taken to hospital via double-crewed ambulances." Replacement buses were brought in to ferry travellers from Grimsby Town and Lincoln Central, and to mitigate further disruption between stations in Barton on Humber and Cleethorpes.
Passengers were warned that the incident and diversions would add an extra hour to their journey times.
