Biker dies in fatal crash near Staffordshire retail park

A motorcyclist has died following a collision near to two Staffordshire retail parks. Emergency services including the air ambulance were scrambled to Cannock yesterday to reports of a crash between a motorbike and a car.

Today and West Midlands Ambulance Service[1] has confirmed that despite the best efforts of paramedics the biker sadly died at the scene. StokeonTrentLive reported yesterday[2] how Eastern Way near to Orbital Retail Park and Gateway Retail Park was shut for a number of hours following the collision.

Emergency services were called to the scene – near to the Churchbridge roundabouts – just before 12.40pm yesterday. The ambulance service sent three ambulances, a paramedic officer, the Midlands Air Ambulance critical care car, and the Midlands Air Ambulance to the incident.

A spokesman said: “On arrival, crews found the motorcyclist, a man, in a critical condition. Ambulance crews immediately began administering specialist trauma care, but sadly, despite their best efforts, it became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed deceased.

“The car driver was uninjured in the incident.”

We have contacted Staffordshire Police[3] for a statement.
