Inside the U8, luxury and technology take center stage. The cabin is plush and upmarket, featuring a massive 12.8-inch OLED Galaxy Curved Center Display and two 23.6-inch longitudinal screens for the driver and front passenger. Premium Nappa leather seats and African Sapele wood accents add to the luxurious feel of the interior. The SUV is also equipped with modern amenities, including wireless charging stations and a high-end audio system.

When it comes to the powertrain, the YangWang U8 boasts an advanced 49.05 kWh LFP battery with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. The electric motors deliver a staggering 1,184 horsepower to the wheels, allowing the U8 to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds. The SUV has a pure electric range of 180 kilometers, and with a full tank of fuel and charged batteries, it can achieve a claimed range of 1000 kilometers.

One of the most unique features of the YangWang U8 is its ability to float on water. The base model can wade through water up to a meter in depth, while the Off-Road Master Edition can handle depths of up to 1.4 meters. In the event of deeper waters, the U8 has a “Yachting Mode” that autonomously elevates the suspension, closes windows and opens the sunroof, and switches to re-circulation mode. In this mode, the U8 can stay afloat for up to 30 minutes, navigating waters at a speed of 1.8 mph by spinning its wheels.

Safety and technology features are not lacking in the YangWang U8, with nearly 40 sensors, including Lidar units, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors. Automated Valet Parking and City Navigation Autopilot are just some of the advanced features available.

The road-focused YangWang U8 Premium Edition is set to be delivered in October with a starting price of $149,008 USD. The pricing details for the Off-Road Master Edition are expected to be announced soon.

With its impressive range, luxurious interior, advanced powertrain, and unique floating ability, the YangWang U8 is set to make a statement in the electric SUV market.
