A38 crash caused long rush hour delays
The A38 was blocked on Tuesday morning following a crash involving multiple vehicles. The incident happened at around 7.15am and led to long delays for motorists at rush hour.[1]
Police say three vehicles were involved in the collision, with photos taken after the crash showing two at the scene on the A38[2] Devon Expressway Westbound, between the A386 Outland Road (Manadon Roundabout) to A3064 (Weston Mill).
Police and ambulance services attended the incident, although it is not thought that anyone was injured in the incident.
The A38 was closed for around 45 minutes as a result of the collision. One lane remained closed for a further 90 minutes, which had to three miles of congestion on the approach so allow extra journey time.”
Devon and Cornwall Police[5] at the time said: “We are on the A38 near the Dockyard turnoff at the scene of a three vehicle collision (on the southbound carriageway). One lane has been reopened and currently awaiting vehicle recovery to arrive.”
Traffic reporting website Inrix added: “The A38 Devon Expressway Westbound was blocked between the A386 Outland Road (Manadon Roundabout) to A3064 (Weston Mill) – with queues back to Marsh Mills.”
