Yobs ‘misuse’ park near HMP Brinsford as cops launch appeal
Cops have launched an appeal after a park near a West Midlands prison is being “misused” at the expense of residents. The play area, located on a new housing estate in the village of Brinsford, Staffordshire[1], has attracted “anti-social-behaviour” from youths, neighbourhood police officers say.
The park is designed for “toddlers and infants” but the culprits have been “misusing the equipment”, PCSO Julia Wells said in a Smart Alert message to residents. Three prisons are located around the small village of Brinsford, they are HMP Brinsford, HMP Featherstone and HMP Oakwood.
In the message sent out by Staffordshire Police, PCSO Wells said: “Police have received reports of ASB on the park on the new housing estate in Brinsford. The park is for toddlers and infants but is being visited by teenagers who are misusing the equipment.
“If anyone has any further information and can identify the teenagers please call on 101 or use the online submission form on the Staffordshire Police web site. If you wish to remain anonymous another option is to call CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111.”
