Woman bitten as she tries to save dog from being mauled
A woman was bitten while trying to stop her pet from being attacked by a roaming dog. And today Staffordshire Police[1] are trying to trace the owner of the Mastiff following the incident on Cobridge’s[2] Mulgrave Street.
Officers say the victim, a woman in her 30s, was out walking her dog yesterday morning when they they ‘approached by another dog off its lead’. The dog then attacked the woman’s dog.
The brave owner tried to stop the attack – and was bitten on her arm. However both the woman, and her pet, managed to ‘get to a place of safety’ and are not said to have been seriously injured.

Now Staffordshire Police is appealing for witnesses to come forward – as attempts to track down the owner continue. A spokesman said: “We were called to Mulgrave Street following reports of a dog attack.
“The victim, a woman in her 30s, was walking her dog when she was approached by another dog which was off their lead. The dog then attacked the victim’s dog. She tried to stop the attack and was bitten on the arm in the process.
“Thankfully, both the victim and her dog went to a place of safety and were not seriously injured. The dog involved in the attack, which we believe to be a Mastiff, has since been seized.
Witnesses should call the force on 101 and quote incident 168 of September 25.
