Wanted man arrested in Cambridge after people asked to avoid area

A wanted man has been arrested in Cambridge. The man, who police believed was having a 'mental health crisis', was arrested in the city on Sunday evening (September 10).

Cambridgeshire[1] Police confirmed they were at the scene at Minerva Way at around 7.30pm. A force spokesperson put out a statement asking people not to gather[2] in the area.

The spokesperson said: "We are aware of a crowd gathering in Minerva Way, Cambridge, where there is currently an ongoing incident whereby our officers are negotiating with a wanted man who is believed to be in a mental health crisis. We ask that people stay away from the area and allow us to safely manage the situation."

The man was safely arrested on Sunday evening, according to a police spokesperson. He remains in custody.
