Vauxhall driver ‘smashed into police car purposefully’ after A12 …
Two people have been arrested following a police chase yesterday (September 24) on the A12 that left a police officer injured. The incident happened on the A-road between Boreham and Hatfield Peveral, at around 12.15 pm, after a Vauxhall Combo failed to stop for Essex Police officers when it was signalled to pull over.
This prompted a pursuit to start as the vehicle reportedly continued through Witham, Hatfield Peveral, Woodham Mortimer, Danbury, and Chelmsford areas without stopping. Essex Police stated the car intentionally crashed into an unmarked police vehicle on the A12 (Witham), causing significant damage to the police car.
An officer was reported to have suffer minor injuries following the collision. The car was stopped successfully at the A12 (Witham North) by Essex Police’s Roads Policing Unit, Road Crime Team, Operational Support Group, Dog Section and Local Policing resources.
