Hours of Merseyrail delays are expected as several lines are affected during rush hour.

The travel provider[1] released an update at around 3.30pm on Wednesday, September 20, about trains travelling on the West Kirby, New Brighton, Ellesmere Port and Chester lines. They announced there was “major disruption” and all trains travelling on the lines were at a standstill due to “signalling problems”.

The update read: “Due to signalling problems between Liverpool Lime Street and Liverpool Central, the Wirral line is disrupted. Disruption is expected until 7pm.”
