Two teenagers who were riding e-scooters have been hospitalised after a crash with a bus near an Essex train station. The incident happened on the Station Approach, near Grays Train Station, with reports coming in at 5.04pm.
Essex Police and East of England Ambulance Service attended the scene following reports of the collision between two teenagers riding an electric scooter and the bus. A teenager was taken to Basildon and Thurrock Hospital via ambulance while another teenager was reportedly taken to hospital by his family.
Their conditions are yet to be confirmed. The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the situation.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 5.04pm on Tuesday 19 th September with reports that two teenagers on an electric scooter had been hit by a bus on the Station Approach in Grays.
“Two ambulances and an ambulance officer vehicle were sent to the scene. One of the teenagers was transported to Basildon and Thurrock Hospital, while the other was conveyed to hospital by family.”
An Essex Police spokesperson said: “We were called to reports of a collision between an e-scooter and a bus in Station Approach at about 5.05pm on Tuesday 19 September. Two teenagers, who were riding the e-scooter, were taken to hospital.
“We worked with colleagues in the ambulance service at the scene and closed the road for a short time.”
