Turtle Bay to host free pop-up jerk BBQ in city centre
A popular Caribbean restaurant[1] chain is hosting a free pop-up jerk BBQ to celebrate its upcoming venue which will be based in the city centre. Turtle Bay[2] is giving the people of Lincoln a taste of what’s to come as they take over the Cornhill Quarter[3] on Thursday, September 14.
Master of Caribbean cooking, Turtle Bay’s executive chef, Collin Brown, will be firing up the BBQ and serving samples of the brand’s famous jerk chicken wings. He will also be putting a fiery twist on the Lincolnshire sausage as well as serving up some veggie options.
Signature cocktails will be handed out and a steel drum band will be playing reggae beats and classic tunes to get people on their feet. The pop-up BBQ will run from 12pm to 3pm. Turtle Bay’s first Lincoln restaurant and bar is set to open towards the end of September.

A total of 35 jobs have been created as a result of the new venue which will be based in the newly renovated Lincoln Central Market. The 6,145 sq ft restaurant and bar will have a total of 218 covers (178 inside, 40 outside), and will be spread across two floors with its own dedicated first floor rum bar and roof terrace.
On the ground floor, customers will find a beautifully designed restaurant, featuring Turtle Bay’s trademark beach shack style interior, with vibrant blue and orange colourways, and walls covered with a selection of bespoke island-inspired artwork and murals. The first floor will be a dedicated rum hideaway with its own outdoor terrace overlooking the Cornhill Quarter.

“The two storey restaurant and dedicated rum bar will make this a really vibrant addition to the Cornhill Quarter and we can’t wait to open the doors.”
