Trio of crashes in Norfolk leaves three in hospital

Three people have been left needing hospital treatment following three separate collisions which happened across the county on Monday (September 25).

The first collision happened on the A47 Acle Straight at 10.19am and involved a tractor and a motorcyclist. A road closure was put in place at the Acle roundabout whilst the emergency services dealt with the scene. The motorcyclist received serious injuries to their leg and face.

A spokesperson from the Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews from Great Yarmouth and the rescue boat from Carrow were mobilised to a road traffic collision on the A47. They manually assisted a person from a roadside ditch. They also made the vehicle and the surrounding area safe and assisted police and ambulance.”

The second collision happened on the A10 near Stow Bardolph just after midday at 12.09pm. The collision involved a lorry and a motorcycle with the motorcyclist being taken to hospital with serious injuries. The road was closed to allow emergency services to deal with the incident. It reopened at 3pm.

The third incident happened on Southtown Road in Great Yarmouth at 5.30pm. The collision involved a silver Suzuki Vitara and a pedestrian. The car collided with an elderly woman close to the junction with Queen’s Street. The woman remains in hospital with serious injuries.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have been a witness to this incident. Those with information or relevant dashcam/CCTV footage are asked to contact Norfolk Police on 101 quoting reference 331 of September 25.
