Three items Daniel Khalife had when arrested as he prepared for life …
Fugitive terror suspect Daniel Khalife was captured this morning by undercover police on a canal in London. The former soldier, 21, had escaped from HMP Wandsworth on Wednesday morning.
A four-day manhunt for the escaped prisoner came to an end shortly before 11am as he was reportedly pulled off a bike on a canal towpath in Northolt, West London. He had been prepared for life on the run, and was found with a bike, sleeping bag and a Waitrose cool bag with groceries inside, according to reports The Sun.[1][2]
An eyewitness who saw the moment he was arrested, Ethan Andrews, told the publication: “The three officers had him on the floor and then five minutes later there were loads more police on the scene – some from the Territorial Support Group too.
“The guy had been on a bike and had a sleeping bag – he seemed to have a change of clothes.”
It is believed the terror suspect escaped from his prison by hiding under a food delivery van. Scotland Yard issued a statement this morning[4] after his arrest.
He is currently in police custody. Commander Dominic Murphy, who leads the Met’s counter terrorism command, said Khalife was “fully co-operative” with officers when detained.
