Teenage girl rushed to hospital after collision with car

A teenage pedestrian suffered serious injuries after a collision with a car. The young girl was rushed to hospital this afternoon.

West Midlands Ambulance Service[1] said they were called to Furnace Lane, in Halesowen[2], just before 1pm, today, Monday, September 25. An ambulance, a paramedic officer, a trauma doctor and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford went to the scene.

The girl was taken by land ambulance to Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital[3]. An ambulance service spokesman told BirminghamLive: “We were called to reports of a collision between a car and pedestrian on Furnace Lane at 12.56pm. One ambulance, a paramedic officer, a MERIT trauma doctor and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.

“On arrival we discovered one patient, a teenage female, who was the pedestrian. She was treated for serious injuries before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham by land ambulance.”

It is not the only instance of a pedestrian being hit by a moving vehicle we have reported today. A pedestrian was also injured following a collision with a car[6]. Police closed the street in Handsworth[7] after the incident this afternoon.
