The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind as blustery conditions continue in Scotland.

It comes as parts of the country continue to experience flooding making some roads impassable and driving conditions difficult.

The Met Office warned that road, rail and ferry transport are likely to be disrupted as well as bus and train journeys taking longer than usual.

The forecasters also warned there was a possibility of “short term loss of power” in some places.

Strong winds are expected to develop across the west and northwest, mainly affecting the Highlands and Strathclyde.

Gusts of wind are set to reach up to 60mph widely, however, it could reach speeds of 75mp in places like Mull and Tiree.

Traffic Scotland reported a lane being closed on the M8 on Wednesday morning due to a two-car crash.

Drivers were warned to “take care” when approaching the slow-moving traffic due to the closure.

The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain on Tuesday with the weather causing surface water and flooding on roads.

It followed multiple rush hour crashes including on the M8 and M74.
