St George police incident – everything we know after officers …

A large police presence was seen in St George late last night after officers swooped down to an incident. Multiple vehicles and a number of Avon and Somerset Police officers were called to attend Holmes Hill Road and Hudds Vale Road.

At around 8.30pm on Thursday (September 7), a number of police vehicle closed the junction of Holmes Hill Road and the A420 Church Road. Eyewitnesses said several units arrived at the scene, including two dog units, with other reports of a police helicopter up over Kingswood[1], Redfield and St George.

One witness at the scene said that it looked like there had been a pursuit, but it is currently unclear what had occurred. No paramedics or fire crews were seen in the area at the time. Shortly after officers were seen in Holmes Hill Road, more police appeared to be conducting a search of a property in Hudds Vale Road.

Avon and Somerset Police’s RPU said officers working in Bristol and Bath[3] that evening had intercepted a motorbike being driven dangerously. Two people without helmets were on the bike which was stopped with a stinger device. It is still unclear whether this incident is linked to the police presence in Holmes Hill Road or Hudds Vale Road.
