Shropshire: Mile End roundabout open after lorry overturns
A section of the Mile End roundabout was closed for several hours leading to commuter delays in the area.
It is understood that the lorry was travelling on the southbound carriage towards Shrewsbury when it overturned on the A5 at around 1.30pm yesterday (Friday, September 29).
Police said one person suffered minor injuries.
The road reopened later that evening after the debris was cleaned up.
Shortly before 9.30pm, National Highways West Midlands said: "The A5 southbound between A495 (Whittington) and A483 (Oswestry) has now reopened following the earlier collision.
"Traffic is now flowing freely, thank you for your patience."
West Mercia Police, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service and West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to the scene.
However, a spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said that before arriving they were stood down by fire colleagues because their services were no longer needed.
Firefighters from Oswestry were joined by colleagues from Ellesmere, Baschurch and Wellington with a rescue tender involved.
No further help was needed after around 2pm.
