ScotRail adds more seats for International Ayr Show this weekend
Following last week's announcement[1], ScotRail[2] is adding more seats on trains this weekend for the International Ayr[3] Show – Festival of Flight.
The festival takes place on Ayr[4] Shorefront, and runs from Friday 8 until Sunday 10 September. There will be an aerial display on Friday evening from 7pm until around 9.15pm and a full air display on the Saturday from 1.15pm to about 6pm. ScotRail[5] is adding carriages to trains between Glasgow[6] Central and Ayr throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday.

As the Largs[9] Viking Festival is also underway, ScotRail expects its services along the route to be much busier than usual.

ScotRail will have extra staff on hand to assist customers, and is reminding people that they are not allowed to carry or consume alcohol on its trains and stations.
Phil Campbell, ScotRail Customer Operations Director, said: “The International Ayr Show provides a host of great family entertainment, and we're looking forward to playing our part in making it a successful and enjoyable weekend.
“To help the event run smoothly, we're adding more seats to trains to and from Ayr on Saturday and Sunday, but services will be busier than normal, so customers should plan ahead and leave plenty of time for travel.
“I'd encourage everyone to purchase their train tickets before boarding to make their travel experience as smooth as possible. The mTicket system, available on the ScotRail app, offers a convenient way to secure your tickets and download them straight to your mobile phone, avoiding any unnecessary queues on the day.”
