Road closure announced for structural repairs to railway bridge

A road close to Warrington town centre will close later this month (September) while structural repairs are carried out to a railway bridge.

The road closure on Froghall Lane will be at night from 11 pm -5 am for two days from September 18-20.

Warrington Borough Council[1] has given notice it intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Froghall Lane from its junction with Midland Way to its junction with Arthur Street.The Order will be effective from 18th September 2023 to 20th September 2023, between 11pm and 5am, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.

The alternative route will be via Midland Way, Lythgoes Lane, Pinners Brow, Winwick Street, Tanners Lane and vice versa. The closure is required to allow Network Rail to carry out structural repairs to the bridge.
