Random DWP cost of living payments to start landing in people’s …

A £300 cost of living payment will land in millions of bank accounts from next month. People on benefits will start receiving the money between October 31 and Sunday, November 19.

But people on tax credits will have to wait a little longer for their payments, as they won’t begin until November 10.

Unfortunately, the payments will be made at random between these dates so there is no way of knowing exactly when the cash will land in claimants’ accounts, the Mirror reports[1].

The payment reference for the cost of living payments next month will be your National Insurance Number followed by DWP COL if people are claiming DWP benefits or HMRC COLSD people are claiming from HMRC.

It will be paid into the same bank account that other benefit payments are made. This £300 instalment is the second of three, totalling £900.

Payments are being sent across 2023 and 2024 and the third and final of £299 is set for spring, with around eight million eligible.
