Person hit by train on main Scottish line as Edinburgh trains …
Edinburgh trains have been suspended after an ’emergency’ incident was reported that a person has been hit by a train on a Scottish line.
Writing on X, formally known as Twitter, ScotRail[1] reported that there had been an emergency incident between Dundee and Arbroath and that services between Edinburgh, Glasgow Queen Street and Aberdeen are suspended.
London North Eastern Railway, later announced on X at 11.06am that a person has been hit by a train between Dundee and Aberdeen with some lines blocked.
Emergency services are understood to be heading to the scene, with significant delays and cancellations expected to disrupt passengers.
ScotRail posted: “Due to an emergency incident between Dundee and Arbroath, services between Edinburgh/Glasgow Queen Street and Aberdeen are suspended.
“Customers can travel on services via Inverness, but this will add significant time to your journey. There is ticket acceptance with Stagecoach East on service 73/A between Dundee and Arbroath. This is in both directions.”
LNER said: “It is with great sadness that due to a person being hit by a train between Dundee and Aberdeen, some lines are blocked. Train services running through these stations may be delayed.”
Police Scotland and ScotRail have been approached for further comment.
