Manchester trains facing delays and cancellations as ‘trespassers …
Rail passengers heading to and from Greater Manchester faced delays and cancellations ahead of rush hour due to trespassers. TransPennine Express[1] said passengers could expect disruption on the line between Stalybridge[2] and Huddersfield.
Disruption lasted until after 11am today (September 7) due to the incident at Marsden, near Saddleworth. A spokesperson for TransPennine Express wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Please be aware that due to trespassers on the railway between #Stalybridge and #Huddersfield all lines are blocked.
“Train services running through these stations may be cancelled or delayed. Disruption is expected until 08:45 07/09.”
