Man taken to hospital after pub attack as police launch appeal

A man was attacked twice in one night as he attended pubs in Cannock.[1] The victim, who is in his 60s, went to hospital following the assaults.

He was not seriously injured in the ordeal. He was attacked twice inside two different pubs on Hednesford Road[2] on Saturday, August 6, police have said.

The victim was punched in the face at one of the locations. And now, officers are appealing for witnesses as they investigate what happened.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police[5] said: “We are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Cannock recently. The man, in his 60s, was reportedly assaulted on two separate occasions in the early hours of Saturday, August 26.

“Both of the incidents happened inside pubs on Hednesford Road. It is understood the victim was punched in the face by a man at one of the locations.

“He went to hospital but was not seriously injured. Officers have been speaking to witnesses and carrying out a number of inquiries to establish what happened.”

They continued: “We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed either incident which may be able to help with our investigation. Call us on 101, quoting incident 182 of 26 August.”
