Man taken to hospital after car and bus crash
A man has been taken to hospital after a bus and car collided in a village lane. Emergency crews were called to Hall Lane in Whitwick, near Coalville[1], shortly after 9am today.
The man, who has not been identified, became trapped in the car. Hall Lane was closed in both directions while a Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service[2] crew worked to free the man.
An ambulance crew subsequently rushed the man to Leicester Royal Infirmary. The severity of his injuries has not been confirmed.
Leicestershire Police officers said both the bus and the car were both carrying further passengers at the time of the crash. However, no other injuries have been reported.
Drivers have been urged to avoid the area while police remain at the scene in Hall Lane today. Buses have also been diverted via an alternative route.
