Man seen with ‘suspected firearm’ walking down Gravesend street

Police are working to track down a man seen with a “suspected firearm” in Gravesend. A CCTV image released by Kent Police shows the man walking down a street holding what appears to be a large gun.

The force said it was called at 6.10am on Saturday, September 2 to the Pelham Road area of Gravesend after receiving reports that a man had been seen with a possible firearm. Officers were sent to the scene and an extensive search was carried out.

However, officers were unable to find anyone matching the man’s description. The force is now asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward and have released an image of the man they are looking for.

Detective Chief Inspector Chris Rabey said: “An investigation to establish the full circumstances is ongoing and our officers are continuing to explore several lines of enquiry to identify and locate the suspect. It is important we speak to the man pictured and I would urge anyone who recognises him or has any other information to call us on 999, quoting reference number 46/157727/23.”
