Man in Queen’s Hospital after smash shuts part of A38
A man is today in hospital after a crash between a lorry and car shut part of the A38. Emergency services were called out to the stretch through Alrewas at around 10.15am with the southbound stretch closed off.
West Midlands Ambulance Service say an ambulance and paramedic officer attended the collision - which occurred close to the Wood End Lane junction. A spokesman said: "One man has been taken to hospital as a precaution after a collision between a lorry and a car on the southbound A38 in Staffordshire.
"It happen at just before 10.15am on Monday on the southbound carriageway just after the Wood End Lane junction at Fradley South.
"An ambulance and a paramedic officer were sent to the scene. The front seat passenger in the car, a man was assessed and treated by ambulance staff before being taken to Queens Hospital in Burton."
The route fully reopened at around 12.35pm.
