Man faces ?470 bill for dodging Bradford to Manchester fare …
Krishan Krishan, 22, of Leeds Road, Bradford, faced one charge of travelling on the railway without paying a fare.
He travelled between Bradford Interchange and Manchester Victoria without paying the £15.80 fare.
Upon arrival at Manchester Victoria following his journey, on March 2, 2023, Krishan produced an advanced single from Bradford Interchange to Manchester Victoria stations with a 16 to 25 Railcard discount. When requested, he was unable to produce the accompanying railcard.
After the incident, he was sent a letter requesting an explanation. As there was no response, a Fixed Penalty Notice was then sent, which remains unpaid.
Krishan was fined £220, ordered to pay £150 costs, an £88 victim surcharge and £15.80 compensation for the offence, which totalled £473.80.
Krishan was sentenced in his absence at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court on August 21.
