Man assaulted and his Range Rover stolen in Leicester
A man was left with a fractured jaw and ankle when he was assaulted in Leicester, before his Range Rover Sport was stolen. The 54-year-old victim was in Berridge Lane, Belgrave, at around 11am on Saturday, September 2, when the attack took place.
Leicestershire Police said an Asian man, described as being about 5ft 7ins tall and with a beard, approached the victim and, after a "verbal exchange of words", punched him. He then made off in the victim's Range Rover while a second person, believed to have been with the suspect drove, off in a black BMW X5, said the force.
The victim had to be taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries. The man's car was later located in Bath Lane in Leicester. Officers have since issued an appeal for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: "Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or the events leading up to the assault and theft. Anyone who was in the area either on foot or in a vehicle is asked to get in touch if they captured any footage of the incident on their phones or dashcam equipment."
