M25: Multiple vehicles involved as HGV overturns near Watford
At 9.30am today (September 30) Herts Police were alerted to an overturned lorry between junctions 18 and 19 of the anti-clockwise motorway.
At least two other vehicles were involved, a VW Passat and a Ford Fiesta, and although it is not confirmed, a van may also have been involved.
After the lorry was left blocking three lanes, Herts Fire and Rescue and the East of England Ambulance service were called to the scene as the driver was thought to be trapped inside.
However, according to the latest information available to the Watford Observer they appeared to be uninjured.
Update: Herts Fire and Rescue have confirmed that the driver was not trapped inside and that two other vehicles had crashed into the central reservation.
Three fire engines were sent to the scene and, as no one was trapped, firefighters assisted the ambulance service with casualty assessment and made the scene safe.
A diversion route through Watford and Rickmansworth has been set up. Details here[1].
The road is now being cleared but remains closed and no other injuries have been reported.
Traffic past the scene has been released in one lane while the carriageway is blocked between junctions 18 and 19.
The M25 anti-clockwise exit slip at junction 19 is also currently closed.
