Lorry driver killed in horror crash pictured for first time

A LORRY driver who died after a horror crash has been named.

Ian Spencer died at the scene of last Friday’s crash in Dalbeattie.

The 56-year-old, from Castle Douglas[1], was involved in the smash near the junction with Port Road.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene but tragically Ian could not be saved.

Cops have since launched a probe into the fatal crash.

Officers have urged anyone with information to come forward.

They have also pleaded with anyone who has dashcam footage to get in touch as they continue to investigate.

Sergeant Lloyd Caven said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Ian at this difficult time.

“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash and who hasn’t already spoken to officers to please get in touch.

“I am also appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time and who may have any dashcam[2] footage which could assist us to make contact.”
