Live as M621 shut at J1 Beeston following ‘police incident’

A motorway slip road leading into Leeds[1] has been shut following a "police incident" tonight.

Delays are expected heading from the M621 eastbound into Beeston, off Junction 1, following the closure. The nature of the police incident has not been confirmed at this stage.

West Yorkshire Police[2] have had to shut the slip road coming off the M621 eastbound at Junction 1 to the A6110 ring road at Beeston[3] and Farnley.

Traffic management system Inrix is reporting as of 6.57pm: "M621 Eastbound lane closed on exit slip road due to police incident at J1 A6110 Ring Road Beeston (Beeston / Farnley)."

It follows an earlier incident on the westbound exit on the same road, which has since been cleared.
