Live as emergency services attend crash in town centre

Emergency services were on scene after a crash[1] between a cyclist and lorry in a Lincolnshire town. The incident took place on the crossroads of the A158 and A153 in Horncastle[2] town centre and motorists were warned to avoid the area.

Traffic was moving very slowly on both major roads which was also affecting traffic in and around the town centre. The road was partially blocked and caused disruption for many.

At the time, a spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “We are on scene at the A153/A158 crossroads in the centre of Horncastle, following a collision between a cyclist and a lorry. Emergency services are present, and motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.”

An updated statement reads: “The roads are being re-opened following this incident, and we thank everyone for their patience.”
