Lancashire miniature railway donating takings to Brain Tumour Charity
The Thompson Park Railway[1] at Burnley[2] in Lancashire[3] is holding its annual charity event next weekend, Saturday, 23 and Sunday, 24 September in aid of the Brain Tumour Charity.
All takings over the weekend as well as any donations that the railway receives will be donated to this charity. The railway is operated by the Burnley & Pendle Miniature Railway Society, and on both days trains will start running at 12 noon, and the final departure will be at 3.50 pm.

The following weekend is the last day of the railway’s normal operating season until the Christmas season when it will be running its Santa Specials.

For anyone travelling by car the postcode is BB11 2AA. The entrance to the site is on the A682 Colne Road, and there is a car park at the entrance at a cast of £2 per day.

Burnley has three railway stations, and the nearest to Thompson Park is Burnley Central, on the East Lancashire Line.

If travelling by bus. The nearest bus stop to Thompson Park is located on the A682, Colne Road outside the Prestige Retail Park, which is served by a number of routes by the Burnley Bus Company (Mainline). These are:
- 5: Harle Syke to Rosegrove
- M3: Trawden to Burnley
- M4: Keighley to Burnley
- M5: Colne to Burnley
