Jordan Henderson makes Mohamed Salah Saudi transfer claim
Jordan Henderson has backed Mohamed Salah to make a big impact if he joins the former Liverpool captain in Saudi Arabia.
The Egyptian was the subject of an £150m verbal bid from Al-Ittihad last week, which was rejected by the Reds. Club bosses remain adamant that the 31-year-old is not for sale, and consider the matter closed, despite the Saudi Pro League side plotting an improved offer before their transfer deadline on September 7.
Henderson[3] called time on his Anfield career earlier this summer as he completed a controversial £12m switch to Saudi side Al-Ettifaq[4]. And while he has briefly spoken to his former team-mate, they haven’t discussed Salah[5]’s own future.
“I haven’t spoken to him about the situation,” he told the Athletic[6]. “Obviously I spoke to him briefly over the past week or two in terms of he was asking if I was okay, everything was all right, how I’m settling in, the normal sort of stuff. I’ve sort of left him with this.”

Liverpool take control of £80m Anfield Road project
Liverpool have taken control of the Anfield Road construction site following Buckingham Group’s collapse into administration.
It was on August 17 that Buckingham Group – the contractors for the Reds’ £80m redevelopment of the Anfield Road End who also have other football stadium work ongoing with the likes of Birmingham City and Fulham – ceased trading and filed a notice to appoint administrators[8] after suffering financial troubles.
That process has now been fully actioned with administrators Grant Thornton having been appointed[9]. While the rail division was saved and sold to the Kier Group for £9.6m, no buyer could be found for the building, civil engineering, demolition, major projects and sport and leisure operations, resulting in the loss of 446 jobs.
Liverpool[10], who have had to operate at a reduced capacity for their first two home games of the Premier League season, against Bournemouth and Aston Villa, revised their hopes for a full opening of the stand, which will hold an additional 7,000 seats to take the Anfield[11] capacity up to 61,000, for October, although that date depends on a number of circumstances.
