Glasgow pedestrian knocked over in hit and run as police hunt driver
Police have launched a hunt for the driver of a vehicle that knocked over a pedestrian, and then fled the scene in the city’s East End[1] on Thursday (September 28) night.
The 30-year-old victim was walking along Duke Street, in the Dennistoun[2] area, at around 11.20pm when he was hit by the vehicle. He was raced to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for his injuries.
He was later released following treatment. Police Scotland[3] are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
A spokesperson said: “Around 11.20pm on Thursday, 28 September, 2023, officers attended a crash involving a car and a pedestrian on Duke Street, Glasgow. A 30-year-old man, the pedestrian, was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment and later released.
“The car left the scene before officers arrived and enquiries are ongoing to trace the vehicle and driver.”
